Per-Diem EMT's Application

Coverage Area: FP EMS provides primary coverage to Florham Park. Mutual aid towns span from Morris to Essex County

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS LISTED BELOW

EMT

Qualifications

  • Valid  NJ EMT Certification

  • Valid Healthcare Provider CPR

  • Valid NJ Driver’s License

  • Ability to pass Background check.

  • Driver trained & CEVO Certification- Ambulance, Emergency Operations Course (EVOC) or approved equivalent program.

  • Availability on weekdays, weeknights, and weekends from 0600-1800 and 1800–0600, flexibility

  • ICS Training, 100, 200, in person, 700 & 800.  300 for advancement. 400, for Upper management.

  • Knowledge and experience with State licensing requirements. 

  • Ability to work in high stress situations & effectively with peers, supervisors, co-workers, other emergency service personnel, and hospital staff.

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Proficiency in e-PCR systems and mandatory submission requirements.

  • Ability to provide QR/Qi for e-PCR's

  • Ability to provide guidance and training to new members and cadets,

  • Must be able to read, speak, and write English sufficiently to perform duties. Based on need: fluency in another language will commensurate with experience and reflected in offer. 

Requirements

  • Complete mandatory training 

  • Ability to follow and comply with the Organizational chain of command.

  • Patience to train new members.

  • Proficiency in lifting and moving, and using all EMS equipment.

  • Proficiency in radio communication, Incident Command & Operational responsibilities.

  • Ability to be compassionate and caring when treating patients and/or engaging with family members. 

  • Responsibility for pre-shift rig checks and resupply medical equipment and medical supplies used during calls for service.

  • A Per-Diem EMT must have a minimum of one (1) year experience as a certified EMT or can prove adequate call experience, riding time and training.

  •  Good physical stamina, endurance, and body condition which would not be adversely affected by lifting, carrying, and balancing at times.  

  • Ability to lift patients in excess of 125 pounds (250, with assistance)
